About us

Down-to-earth, but with entrepreneurial spirit! Conservative in values, but courageous, far-sighted and innovative - characteristics such as these have made a decisive contribution to the fact that a family business steeped in tradition has developed into a company that operates successfully throughout Europe. Originating from Sendenhorster Kunststoffröhrenwerke GmbH, founded in 1962, today's Funke Kunststoffe GmbH, based in Hamm, has developed into a well-known brand in the industry: Whoever says plastic pipes must also say Funke! Funke is constantly developing and establishing new, pioneering system solutions - for example, for the application areas of sewer and drainage pipe systems, property drainage, sewer connections, chamber systems, rainwater management, soil reinforcement and tree protection.

Funke KS-Bluebox®

The KS-Bluebox® consists of pre-assembled plastic-sheathed D-Raintank 3000® elements. This variant of the D-Raintank 3000® system is suitable not only for intermediate rainwater retention, but also for permanent storage, with a view to later removal and use.

It’s possible to design the system in various widths and with up to three layers on top of one another. Due to the possible combination with the D-Raintank 3000 smallbox® infiltration element (H = 330 mm) different construction heights of the KS-Bluebox® can be realized.

COEX2000

With pipes and fittings of nominal diameters from DN/OD 110 to DN/OD 500 with the COEX 2000® System, Funke Kunststoffe GmbH offers civil engineering companies and contractors a full range of property drainage products.

The pipes are manufactured in a coextrusion process and are suitable for the draining of household and industrial sewerage from buildings. The three-layer pipes have an inner and an outer skin which is made of PVC-U (unplasticized) and a foamed PVC-U middle layer. The pipes and fittings are available in SN 4/SDR 41 and in some cases/upon request additionally in SN 8/SDR 34. The considerable product properties include not only the low weight but also the permanent tightness (0.5 bar) and a temperature resistance in accordance with DIN EN 476. The pipes and fittings are made of a synthetic material and can be easily recycled after use.

VPC®-Pipe Coupling

The new Funke VPC®-Pipe Coupling allows pipes of the same nominal diameters made of different materials to be connected to one another safely, reliably, and with the best possible results – despite having different outer diameters incurred by the design type! The Funke VPC®-Pipe Coupling consists of a reducible sealing sleeve made of elastomer rubber, a centrically reducible securing cage made of plastic, and two stainless-steel bands for applying force to achieve a uniform circumferential adjustment.

Connex-Junction

Using the CONNEX-Junction lateral pipes can be connected to the sewer pipe quickly, easily and economically – both in the case of a new installation and upon retrofitting. The component is equipped with an integrated adjustable socket so that the connected pipes permit movements in all directions from 0° to 11°. Thus, the CONNEX-Junction meets the requirements of DWA-A 139* (German Technical Guidelines), according to which “lateral pipes must be connected in such a way that they can accommodate movements". The significantly increased flexibility contributes to high quality and a long service life of lateral pipes and connections.

Funke BI-Adapter®

The Funke BI-Adapter® allows you to securely connect pipes that are circular on the inside only
– pipes with a foot (base) or pipes with reinforcement crown, for example – and it also allows you to connect ovoid pipes with circular pipes. The Funke BI-Adapter® consists of an inner sleeve, an expansion wedge made of 1.4404 stainless steel and an EPDM sealing collar.

Fast, flexible and sealed

The EPDM-covered stainless steel barrel is inserted into the pipe. The user then widens it by driving in the wedge, which press fits it onto the inner wall of the pipe. Several sealing ribs arranged in a ring shape ensure that a tight joint is formed. The VPC® Pipe Coupling included in the delivery is then mounted and fastened on the other end of the BI-Adapter. This makes it possible to connect a pipe with a circular outer geometry. The outer diameter of the pipe to be connected must be in the clamping range of the VPC® Pipe Coupling being used. The Funke BI-Adapter® is available for transitions with non-circular external geometry in nominal diameters from DN 150 to DN 1000.

FABEKUN® Junction

The FABEKUN® Junction with DN/OD 160 or DN/OD 200 adjustable socket is suitable for the connection of lateral pipes to concrete or reinforced concrete pipes (EN 1916) – starting from a wall thickness of 30 mm – and also for clay pipes. Thanks to its three dimensional seals it adapts ideally to the inner radius of the sewer pipe. The adjustable socket allows for the connection to swivel within a range from 0° to 13° and compensates the different settlement behaviour of the main sewer pipe and the lateral pipe. Thus, the requirements of many national standards such as DWA-A 139 (Germany) are fulfilled.
